Set was received broken. Plasma screen was badly broken. Shipping personnel who delivered unit did not even get it all the way out of the box before it was evident the glass screen was shattered. The shipper repacked the unit and returned it to Amazon. End of story.

I bought this set after thorough research and was truly thrilled with it right up until the set wouldn’t turn on one morning, after having worked perfectly for 27 months. After being told that the plasma screen had failed…and since the set was out of warranty, the authorized repair shop gave me a $2100.00 repair bill for a TV I paid $1600.00 for and could replace for $699.00; which is precisely what I did. BUT…I bought an Insignia set from Best Buy…got the 4 year (!) extended warranty for $159.00 and the picture is just as good. The Panasonic customer satisfaction team was a JOKE..offering me a 30% discount on the original MSRP for a new set.
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PANASONIC product again. Something this expensive should not totally fail in 27 months.

This review is for the process of buying this TV from Amazon. I know some of you only want reviews about the TV, however this review is for the bad experience I had buying it from Amazon.
Ordered the TV from Amazon on Wednesday for a very good price. Was notified on Friday via text that the tv would be delivered that day. Checked the status at Amazon and it stated “Action Required from Customer” . I called them and told them that I had not been contacted. They said we will call you later to schedule an appointment…I called them back later that day and asked about the status and they scheduled me for Monday between 12-3. I made arrangements to be home at that time. Well Monday at 12 they called and stated that they could not deliver it that day it would be be one more day. I again made arrangements to be home during their deliver window. Well at 11:30 the shipping company Pilot called and said they would be at my home at 12:20. They arrived at 1:30….Then they opened the box and the screen was broken. They took the TV away. Then I received a text that my order had been delivered. Now Amazon said I should receive my TV next Wednesday (8 more days). Skip this hassle and buy somewhere else.

I purchased this to replace my 36″ sony xbr—-Certaintly the price was a key factor-I paid $774 which was fine but the set does not have the picture quality I had expected–The old sony picture was clearer and crisper-
The hi definition channels are teriffic but your everyday ones are only ordinary-You get what you pay for and for the money it is fine but next time I will spend more and get the quality of picture I want
